Native for Kids
"Native for Kids" is an English club I am thankful that I get to run! I have the opportunity to get to know so many students and get to share so many laughs!! My goal is to give the students positive experiences by allowing them to explore their own ideas and interests.

English is important! I don't think I need to remind anyone of that. Giving kids the opportunity to practice what they learned in the classroom through interesting captivating tasks gives them the confidence they need to keep learning. English clubs are less formal than a classroom setting. Many learners find them more fun than usual English classes. They also let learners practice English in more real-life situations. This can increase a learner's desire to practice and learn on their own. It is said by experts that using a language in authentic situations is very important for learners. So is being motivated to practice and improve, they say.

"Native for kids" runs for one hour a week and we learn about structures, physics, chemistry and my favourite science of them all Biology! I studied Biology at a Canadian University which gives me a strong background and love for it which I hope to pass on to the kids! I love to see their faces light up when an experiment goes well or their hit their targets with the catapults they made on their own! We also learn about art, make crafts and explore other mediums, all in English. We also play lots of games, dance and sing songs! Through all of these the kids build their English skills and learn the be creative and think outside of the box!

As teachers, it is our job to inspire kids to love to learn, and that is what this club allows me to do!

Pauline Igauchine

arts and crafts
Christmas baubles
The students made unique bauble to remember the year, we talked about Christmas traditions in English speaking countries and our favourite parts of Christmas. I hope every time they look at their art hanging from the tree they remember the memories made making these toys! The best part of the holidays is the memories we make.
Kandinsky
Kandinsky wasn't an ordinary artist. Any guesses why? He has a gift, synesthesia. That's right! He could see music! The everyday sounds he heard and the music he listen to is what he painted!!!! The students practiced listening and imagining what music look likes. They painted in the style of the artist who loved to use shapes and colours.
games
games
Learning happens spontaneously and is best remembered when done with an action. Kids love a challenge and in the club we often do active games which the kids can use to get their energy out, practice teamwork and most importantly their English!
science
MARSHMALLOW TOWERS
Is it impossible to build a tower out of toothpick and marshmallows? The students proved that it isn't! They raced to find the best way to build their tower to make it stand tall and strong.
Volcanos
The students loved watching our volcanos erupt! They loved finding out about nature and were pleasantly surprised that using simple stuff you can find at home, you can make such a fantastic reactions!
the Labyrinth Day
On the Labyrinth Day the children played labyrinths very willingly, but this is not only entertainment, but also an educational didactic game. It develops attention, patience, intricate labyrinths teach to keep a number of events in memory!
